How To Create The Double Bun In 5 Simple Steps

LOOKING TO TAKE YOUR BALLERINA BUN TO THE NEXT LEVEL? THE DOUBLE BUN IS THE PERFECT WAY TO WEAR LONG HAIR NOW THAT THE FESTIVAL SEASON IS HERE!

WESTROW DIRECTOR, STEVE ROWBOTTOM, TOLD US HOW TO RECREATE THE FESTIVAL INSPIRED TREND:

Recreate At Home:

1..To ensure the style will last and look edgy, avoid washing hair on the morning you wish to create The Double Bun. If you have hair that has been freshly washed then recreate the texture and hold with a texturising product like the L’Oréal Wild Stylers Next Day Hair.

2. Prepare the hair with a root-boosting product like L’Oréal Tecni.Art Super Dust and light backcomb at the roots to boost volume even further!

3. Use a fine-toothed comb to neatly part the hair at the middle of the head. Part the hair into two even sections from front to crown of the head. Hold the ponytails in place with clear bands or a bobble similarly coloured to your hair.

4. Use your fingers to twist the hair around the bobble, fixing the loop in place with Kirby grips. Aim to keep both buns high up on the head.

5. Keep the hair on the parting, smooth and neat. Fix it all in place with a strong hairspray such as the L’Oréal Tecni.Art Air Fix Hairspray.

TIP: To ensure you have done it right check that the dishevelled buns contrast with the neat crown. If you think the buns look too neat, tease random fine strands of hair out. Then fix back in place with Kirby grips and spritz with a humidity-defying hairspray such as L’Oréal Tecni.Art Fix Anti-Frizz.

“The height in this style narrows the face, draws the eye to your cheekbones to create an all round flattering look” – Westrow Director, Steve Rowbottom
