It’s not all about looks at the gym and we do try to put more effort into our workouts than our appearance. But looking good, makes you feel good and keeping your hair out of your face with a cute hairstyle is just a bonus.
Check out our top 4 pretty and practical hairstyles for the days you need that extra feel good motivation and a standard ponytail just wont cut it.
1. PIGTAIL BRAIDS
Perfect for Callisthenics training (exercises without equipment or apparatus). Allow secure hair back and off your face with sporty double braids.
How to: Part hair into 2 even sections down the centre of your head.
Clip one side out of the way whilst you French braid the other.
Leave two – three inches unbraided and secure with an elastic band .
Remove the clip from the other side and repeat.
2. PONY BRAID
The perfect remedy for a frizz day in the sauna.
How to: Secure hair into a high ponytail.
Choose between a regular braid or a fishtail if you want to be different.
When you get close to end of your hair, use a second elastic to keep in place.
3. BRAIDED BUN
Great for fitness class like bootcamp or cycling to keep hair off your back and face.
How to: Start by following the exact instructions for the Pony Braid above.
Then wrap the braid around the base of your ponytail and secure with bobby pins.
4. BRAIDED HALO
Perfect for yoga and low-key Pilates, this style will keep hair off your face and impress the girl on the mat behind you.
How to: Part the centre and start by french braiding the hair from the left. Once the braid passes your left ear, switch to a regular braid (without picking up any extra sections).
Part the middle of the back of your head, and secure with an elastic. Repeat on the other side.
Once completed the right side, use an elastic to secure the braids in a tight half pony. Then finally remove the elastics you used to secure the braid ends.
