Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Level 3

Course Duration:

Between 13 and 18 months

Course Outline

Training for all Apprentices will be work-based in a commercial salon, where they will work as part of the salon team, combined with training sessions at Westrow’s Academy. Apprentices will complete an apprenticeship standard in Hairdressing at Level 3, Functional Skills at Level 2 in English and Maths, accompanied by an ‘Employment Rights and Responsibilities’ module. Alongside this, personal learning and thinking skills will also be developed.

The City and Guilds apprenticeship standard Level 3 in Hairdressing is designed for Level 2 qualified hairdressers who are currently working within the industry. Practical work experience will be an essential part of this course with fortnightly visits to Westrow’s Educational Academy

Course Content

This course is designed to meet the needs of hairdressers wishing to develop skills, with modules including:

• Advanced cutting techniques
• Creative colour and colour correction
• Artistic and creative interpretation
• In-depth consultation skills
• Health and safety
• Creatively dressing long hair
• Individual and team development

Assessment

During the course students will collect a portfolio of evidence for assessment. This will consist of written, oral and observational practice evidence.

Entry Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 in hairdressing.
• Alternative hairdressing qualification with salon experience.
